The program will provide an intimate setting in which players can meet and be observed by college coaches. There will be NCAA varsity coaches who direct the camp, and will be on site for all three days. There will also be other coaches and program scouts who come to observe the training sessions and the showcase scrimmages. Coaches will be presented with profiles of the players, and will have access to the players' online profiles.
The emphasis will be on functional training during the day, accompanied by two structured daily playing sessions designed to provide college coaches with the opportunity to see the players perform. In addition to match and conditioned play, there will also be regular Goalkeeper-Striker sessions and Mid-fielder-Defender training that focus on differing aspects of the positions each day.
In addition to the on-field training and games, coaches will conduct sessions designed to help players prepare for the college application process, and for the college experience.
The camp is directed by Peter Gooding and Mickey Kydes.
Peter Gooding is the former Amherst College Mens Soccer Coach and Athletic Director, and the former President of the NSCAA. He is currently a partner in the Gooding Sports Group, which advises families on school placement.
Mickey Kydes is the founder and President of Mickey Kydes Soccer, and founder of Beachside of Connecticut Soccer Club. He has guided hundreds players in their road to playing soccer at the college level.
Kydes played professional soccer both in the MISL, the MLS, and US National Team. He is a member of the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame and the Long Island University Hall of Fame, and is a USSF 'A' licensed coach.
College coaches will represent NCAA D1, Ivy D1, D2, and D3 schools. Players should leave the camp with a better sense of what the college division are, and which might be appropriate for them.
The tuition for the camp is $565.
Players will be paired with roommates at Lehigh University. Club coaches will supervise and have rooms in the dorms along with the students. Meals will be provided, also at Leghih.
