Key Points on Game Scheduling

The home team will make best efforts to accommodate the requests of the away team concerning start time, etc., but ultimately set the day (Saturday or Sunday on the weekend set by the league) time, and field and the away team must turn up and play.

If, on occasion, a team cannot play its scheduled game on a specific weekend for a valid reason, then that game must be made up as soon as possible; or better re-scheduled to a date before the original date. (Valid reasons include acceptance to a marquee tournament such as the Dallas Cup, but do not include commitments to other leagues or cup competitions.)

The EDP makes certain scheduiing concessions to USYS State Cup Competitions. In the event of a USYS State Cup game, both EDP teams’ obligation remains to play the EDP League game on its scheduled weekend. If the State Cup game is scheduled for Saturday, the EDP game is expected to be played on Sunday, and vice versa. Games should be re-scheduled as soon as the State Cup schedule is released. If the Cup game is confirmed only in the week leading up to a scheduled EDP League game, a Cup team is responsible notification of its EDP opponent immediately, and for initiating the necessary arrangements to re-schedule the EDP game.
