About Downtown United Soccer Club

Downtown United Soccer Club (“DUSC”) was founded in 1982, initially providing an intramural coed Recreational program for downtown Manhattan communities and since then has become the most comprehensive program in Manhattan. DUSC’s inclusive program has a simple idea: teach a younger player the skills that he or she will need, play them in a supportive team structure, make sure the emphasis is on fun and you will grow strong, cohesive and competitive teams.

The core goals of our club are to promote and generate respect for the game through the fostering of a soccer-loving community that values sportsmanship, integrity and playing the game the “right way”. We aim to provide opportunities to players from different backgrounds and with wide ranging abilities to achieve their soccer goals. We believe a fun and positive environment encourages creativity and facilitates players fulfilling their full potential over the long term both during their time at the club and in their future playing careers.

DUSC’s Travel program offers advanced soccer training from U6 through U18. Coached by highly qualified and dedicated professionals drawn from college and Olympic Development Program teams and with backgrounds from an array of different countries, DUSC teams compete locally in the New York metro area and in Northeast regional leagues and the Eastern Development Program.

In addition, DUSC has formed a partnership with Manchester City Football Club, an English Premier League professional soccer club that has worldwide recognition. Through this program, DUSC coaches have the benefit of cutting edge training and coaching methods and DUSC players and coaches have the opportunity to attend soccer camps run by Manchester City’s coaches and visit Manchester City’s facilities in the UK.
